FNF Night!!!

Well, yes the kids are very adamant-FNF (Family Night Friday) is beginning once again. I had thought, well lets start off this next year with a bang like going bowling or skating! We were not able to do that this time. See, we are very much trying to be sensitive to Stefan's school schedule-he had two papers he had to write tonight. He was unable to join us for a full night of FNF. So it was just the kids and I. Remember his schedule will be changing very soon with his new job and this will allow for FNF nights to remain on Fridays with no problem. So the kids and I did the best we could...Each of the kids did something they enjoyed. The boys wanted to stay up and watch Lord of the Rings and put up a glow-in-the-dark solar system in their bedroom, (which Stefan helped them with), Kayla made brownies to serve Daddy while he was doing his papers, and I enjoyed talking with the kids and just giving the older ones my full attention!! It was very relaxing and pleasant for all of us to just simply enjoy each other's company.
As a matter of fact, I did fall asleep on the couch at one point, and the kids put a little brownie by my leg for me to eat and enjoy. Though funny enough, they did not wake me up at all to enjoy it!!

The kids must have chosen to go to bed on their on accord and left me to sleep soundly with the comfort of my brownie next to me. I awoke at 1:30 am to no kids around...the kids put themselves to bed!!!! What an evening!! I must say-the chillin's did have fun and we made the best of it-with Daddy not right there with us the whole time-we kept saying 'he is still with us', only at a distance. It was fun! Their hearts really just wanted to be together, doing something fun. That is what FNF is all about. Only, we do look forward to Stefan being there the whole time next time!
