Gavin's New Science Experiement-Triops

Thanks to God's creation of "boys", our whole family has been introduced to Triops.
The kids and I were in Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago and Gavin came up to me and asked if he could buy "these". My response to him, "sure", not knowing exactly what we were buying. (I thought it was something like those sponge things that grow in water.) See, Gavin has this engineering kind of mind. He enjoys putting things together and figuring things out.
Anyway, when we got home, Gavin went right to work on his experiment. It's been interesting observing him as he has faithfully worked on it, giving these creatures the right environment to grow in, etc. At moments, I would ask him, "Where are the eggs"? He said, "Right there". Me, "Where" ? Gavin said, "Right there". Low and behold, I could not locate these things until they actually hatched!

These things are actually alive! As we looked at them with curiosity, I asked Stefan, God really made these things? That's cool! They look like tadpoles almost. Before this we never knew they existed.
I am learning how to really appreciate the different mindset that boys bring, especially as they grow older. Life is so interesting with "boys".
