Recapping A Long Day...

Today was one of those days that just seemed sooo long. All is very still and quiet now-everyone is in bed before me which is unusual. Stefan is a late nighter kind of person yet he is in bed early, and as for me-I'm usually the one that is down for the count. For some reason not tonight.

Stefan was working late tonight and I had to bathe, pray, put everyone down, while calming a fussy baby, etc. All the norm, accept without the wonderful help I am so blessed to have. (I am not complaining at all-it's a good thing when I am forced to do it all on my own-it builds character!!)
One of the things that took some time was that Ava awoke and had to use the potty, (which by the way, she has potty trained herself. Yea-God's Kindness!).
Then Gavin asked if I could sit down beside his bed for a minute. Though I was very tired, I sat down to hear what he needed to share. For the past few nights the kids have been going to sleep listening to the Bible on tape. This has been an excellent thing for them and they really enjoy it. Over the past few months it seems as if the Lord has been drawing Gavin's spirit towards thoughts of becoming a Christian, and a sensitivity towards the things of the Lord. Tonight after listening to Matthew, he shared how excited he is about the Gospel and that Jesus is Alive! Which he kept saying over and over, "He's Alive!", with tears in his eyes. We continued talking and then ended in prayer. Though I was tired and it was late, as I recap my day, I think what a blessing to end the day with hearing my son say those words, "Jesus is Alive!! He is Alive!"

Lord, just as you are stirring Gavin's heart, you have so sweetly reminded me, at the end of this day, who you are and who I am, in need of you. Thank you Lord, you have sent your Son to die on the cross, paid the price for our sins, and you rose again to be seated at the right hand of the Father. You have made that way for us to be near you, through Jesus, and yes, You Are Alive!
