WoW! What a great first school morning! The Lord made our first school morning very interesting and exciting! This year as I am attempting to school 4 children and mother an infant-I truly feel and know God's grace is there. Goals are finally taking shape and I am actually attempting to put them into action. With a full set of chillins I know that so many things, most likely, may not go according to plan. And it did not, but the morning was still good.
The Lord really helped me to go with the flow, but I still had the skeleton of my plan in place.
The counsel I received was to start slow and add on...so I am.
For example...I actually awoke at 6:45, which was a surprising thing for me. I knew I needed to get a good start on the day. I was planning on doing devotions after my quick shower when I heard, "Mommy, can I use your bathroom! Someone is in ours." Oh, Well...there goes the 1/2 hr. quiet time, I was planning. Anyway, I knew the kids were excited to begin school because I had planned a few fun things for our first day. We did attempt to get something of a routine down, the kids got dressed and they ate-see, we accomplished 2 major things earlier than normal. I planned on a treasure hunt for the kids and when I went outside to hide items, I found a turtle! For us this is a new adventure, finding turtles in our yard, (we are now in the country, you see). We looked up the info. on the computer to see what kind turtle it was. What a neat way to begin our first day of school! I am not a real creative, investigating nature, type of Mom. So thankfully, the Lord brought His creation to us and we could study it! The kids of course wanted to keep it but we placed it back in the woods.
STEVE the Turtle
Then we came in, had circle time (where we discuss our day, devotions, and prayer), looked over our new school books, and what activities are planned for this year. Then we did a few subjects.
Ava also participated this morning with her school. Though we had to stop, correct, change gears at times, it all turned out well. The kids are so glad to be back doing school.
Thank you Lord, for an encouraging first day of school. I am in Faith for this year!!!! Here are some pictures! Enjoy!
Yes, the kids named the turtle Steve.
Kayla working hard!

I was delighted to see the pictures of the first day of school! You are doing a great job of being purposeful and showing enthusiasm for the new school year....it is obvious that the kids have latched on to that enthusiasm. Love you!! Mom/Nana
Thanks Mom for the encouragement!!
