OK I Am A Little Delayed, But I Got Tagged Twice!!

Thanks Linsday! I just realized today that I got tagged. The Rules? List 7 favorite children's books and 8 random things about yourself, then tag someone (it's their turn).

OK so here it goes.

First I will list my 7 favorite children's books...

  1. Goodnight Moon
  2. Going On a Bear Hunt (you have to read this one with lots of emotion)
  3. Goodnight Gorilla-an old time family favorite
  4. The Hardy Boy Mysteries
  5. The (Old) Nancy Drew Mysteries
  6. Little Bear
  7. Everyday Graces (is a compilation of stories that teaches lessons-great book!)
and much more!
Now for my 8 random things about myself? Well...

  1. I was originally born in Bluefields, Nicaragua (Bluefields was actually named after an Englishman) I am not English though...or who knows maybe I have some English in me??? Somewhere? Nope, definitely Spanish.
  2. My original name in Nicaragua was Julia Marianna Martinez.
  3. I was adopted at 14 months of age and I am an only child. Loved being an only child, I have such wonderful childhood memories!
  4. I was actually home-schooled from 6th grade on and Graduated in '95-I was a part of a homeschooling umbrella program called Valley Brook Academy, which was one of the first programs to be approved by the state of Maryland to home-school. That was when only Abeka, Saxon, Bob Jones, and Lifepacs were around!
  5. My second and last job was working as the administrative assistant to the guy that was President of Valley Brook Academy. That is where Stefan and I met.
  6. I didn't go to college, but I remember having an interest in Physical Ed, Elementary Ed, or Criminology. What a selection! God had other plans didn't He?-Though a desire to teach elementary ed has come true.
  7. I Do Not like seafood...except! Salmon and crab cakes. Isn't that sad? I wish I did like seafood...
  8. I won a Sparrows, (a Christian label back in the 90's), contest once. Do any of you remember them? Anyway, we sang a D.C. Talk rap song. Sadly we never got a contract...wonder why?
For those of you who are wondering, someone in our church started this. I think we all have each others blogs so we ran out of people to tag.

Dana you got tagged too I think...

Those were great Erika! I learned a lot!!! You know...it is funny, but Chelsey is an only child, and your three areas of interest are very similar, and she really doesn't want to go to college either....what a great role model!!! Oh...and Sparrow Records...just so you know...they ahve been around since at least the early 70s!!! Yikes! I had tons of them! Thanks for sharing!

Robin you are such an encourager!! Thank you! That is really interesting that Chelsey would have similar interests!
I am so glad that the Lord had other plans for me. I knew in my heart ever since I was little, that I wanted to be a wife and mother of 5 or 6 kids and that desire was very evident amongst my Mom and friends. Looking back, I would have approached this desire with more wisdom and guidance from my Mom and the Lord. Yet God is a redeeming God and it was so kind of God to grant me that desire. Though there are times I do look back and wonder what it would have been like if I had gone to College and there are moments I wish I had. But the Lord reminds me of His kindness, He knew the deepest desires of my heart was to be a wife and Mother. I am so grateful it was in His plan for me and that I was able start so young!
I will be praying for all of you as you guide and lead Chelsey. And also that the Lord will make His plan clear to Chelsey and that the Lord will meet the desires of her heart as well.

Thanks for sharing Robin!

Thanks Erika....that is very encouraging, and I really covet the prayers of friends who have been in similar places in their lives! Chelsey's greatest desire also is to be a wife and a mom. I know she will be a good one. Her huge struggle is waiting on God's timing! Thanks for your prayers and your thoughts!
